About Learning Disabled Programs and Services
- There is support for Learning Disabled students but there is not a specific program available for Learning Disabled students.
- There is no limit to the number of Learning Disabled students.
- There is no limit to the percent of students allowed into the Learning Disabled program.
Application Requirements
- A personal interview is recommended.
- Untimed tests are accepted.
- GED certification is accepted.
- top three-fifths of secondary school class is the minimum class rank accepted.
- C is the minimum letter grade average accepted.
Learning Disabled Student Services
- List of applicable services for Learning Disabled students:
- Remedial English
- Note-taking Services
- Oral Tests
- Readers
- Tutors
- Tape Recorders
- Untimed Tests
- Learning Center
- Learning Disabled students are tutored individually and in small groups.
- Credit is not given for remedial courses taken.
Learning Disabled Term and Staff Information
- The Learning Disabled student program runs on a minimal term.
- A lighter course load is given to Learning Disabled students.
- Additional time is given to complete degree.
- No extra cost for Learning Disabled students.
- There are 2 full-time staff persons available to work with Learning Disabled students.
- Wayne King, Director, Center for Academic Excellence, is the key staff person available to work with Learning Disabled students.
