Campus Description and Transportation Services

- 75-acre and 180-acre campuses (plus additional 330 acres) in Boone
- (population: 13,000), 95 miles from Winston-Salem. Major airports serve
- Greensboro and Charlotte (both 120 miles); smaller airport and bus serve
- Hickory (50 miles); train serves Greensboro. Public transportation serves
- campus.

Types of Housing
- Coed Dorms are used by 68% of the on-campus students.
- Women's Dorms are used by 21% of the on-campus students.
- Men's Dorms are used by 5% of the on-campus students.

Students who are required to live on campus:

All unmarried, nonveteran freshmen must live on campus unless living with
family.
Campus housing is not available for all unmarried students regardless of year. Reason:
Freshmen and sophomores are guaranteed housing; for all others housing is
granted on a space-available basis.
The school provides assistance in locating off-campus housing if on-campus housing is not available.
